The Asheville Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society and its performance arm, The Land of the Sky Chorus (LOS), is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization. That means we receive more than 33 1/3 percent of our income from contributions, dues, and gross receipts from our performances. All of our members are volunteers, and only our Music Director receives any compensation.

Also, several years ago following the death of long-time barbershopper, long-time Asheville Chapter member, esteemed Land of the Sky Chorus Music Director, and our friend, Skip Hotchkiss, the Skip Hotchkiss Fund was established.

This philanthropic fund, fueled by a portion of all performance receipts and donations from sponsors, chapter members and families, friends of the chorus, etc, is used to provide monetary donations to support music education in local secondary schools.

All contributions are tax deductible and you may maintain anonymity or we will be delighted to list your name amongst the chorus' supporters on our show programs and/or website.

Advanced and flourishing cultures have always shared a deep and loving respect for the arts. The arts inspire, enthuse, and enrich our lives in true and lasting ways. Together we are the beneficiaries of the works offered by those called to give their precious time to such creative endeavors. The Land of the Sky Chorus is serious in its mission to gather devoted men and direct their musical talents into a shining display of brotherhood in song.
