Real Men Sing

Real Men Sing

Fact Sheet

Goals:
Encourage and foster the joy of singing among young men.
Provide an opportunity for young men from different high schools in this area interested in music, to interact with other youth and established singers as well as have the opportunity to perform for a large audience.

Overview:

We hope to recruit 30-50 young men from Asheville area high schools. They will gather for a day long (8 a.m.—6 p.m.) intensive teaching workshop to learn 3—4 quartet arrangements. Three months before arriving, they will be sent sheet music for the songs and part specific learning tracts to prepare in advance. Meals and logo TShirts will be provided. That evening they join the Land of the Sky Barbershop Chorus at Dianna Wortham Theater in downtown Asheville to perform as an integral part of our annual show. One of the songs they have prepared will be sung together with the LOS Chorus; they will perform the others as the “Real Men Sing Chorus.” Registration link below.
